Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming) with dignity and respect
• Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
• Take and record basic vital signs accurately and report any changes to nursing staff
• Help create a warm, home-like environment by engaging residents in conversation and activities
• Contribute to accurate documentation and timely communication within the care team
• Follow infection control and safety protocols to protect residents and staff
• Observe residents for changes in condition and promptly escalate concerns to licensed nurses

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or completion of an approved GNA training program
• Current CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Comfortable working with older adults and supporting daily living needs
• Ability to pass required background checks and health screenings
• Positive attitude, reliability, and strong teamwork skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved GNA training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic clinical skills: taking vital signs, assisting with ADLs, recognizing changes in condition
• Safe resident handling and transfer techniques
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with residents, families, and staff
• Basic documentation skills and attention to detail
• Knowledge of infection control practices and resident safety standards
