Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments accurately and safely according to provider orders
• Perform thorough patient assessments and monitor vital signs, reporting changes promptly
• Document patient care, observations, and interventions clearly in the medical record
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, and interdisciplinary staff to coordinate high-quality care
• Provide compassionate bedside care and patient education to support recovery and independence
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and transitions of care to ensure smooth handoffs
• Maintain infection control and safety standards to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license; Maryland licensure preferred or eligible
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• 1+ year of clinical nursing experience preferred, especially in long-term care or rehab
• Current immunizations and ability to pass background and health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, patient-centered approach

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program or equivalent diploma

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and documentation best practices
• Skilled in patient assessment, vital signs, and wound care basics
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate charting
• Knowledge of infection prevention, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance
• Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask in a fast-paced setting, and work well on a team
