Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care on the med/surg unit and advocate for patient needs
• Perform thorough assessments and develop nursing plans that drive positive outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments accurately while following safety protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
• Document care clearly and timely in the electronic health record to support continuity
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge planning

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia or compact license eligible
• Current BLS certification; ACLS or specialty certifications preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient nursing experience preferred, med/surg experience a plus
• Must be able to pass background check and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a patient-first attitude

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid assessment and critical thinking skills to prioritize patient care
• Comfortable with IV medication administration and common inpatient procedures
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and clinical documentation
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Teamwork mindset and adaptability to changing patient needs
