Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM or 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend, self-scheduling with block options

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $58 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Deliver compassionate care to adolescents and adults facing depression, anxiety, and behavioral health challenges
Master de-escalation techniques to create safe, supportive environments
Conduct 15-minute rounds and actively engage in patient care activities
Collaborate with mental health techs, occupational therapists, and social workers
Float as a helping hand or for 1:1 support across the hospital when needed

Qualifications

Active RN license with at least 2 years of experience
BLS certification required, CPI preferred
Acute inpatient hospital experience, especially in psych settings
Strong communication skills and comfort with de-escalation
Open to first-time travelers, adolescent experience a plus

Education

ADN or BSN (BSN not required)

Knowledge & Skills

Expert de-escalation and patient communication
Understanding of common diagnoses like depression, anxiety, psychosis, bipolar, and schizophrenia
Team collaboration with mental health techs and support staff
Patience and composure in a dynamic locked unit environment
