Surgical Technician - CVOR

Location: Sacramento, CA

Start Date: 07-21-2026

End Date: 10-20-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Varied day shifts (6:00 AM or 10:00 AM start), 8-10 hour shifts, with overnight call once per week and weekend call (3 weekend days per month).

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $52 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Prepare the operating room and ensure all equipment is sterile and ready for cardiovascular surgeries
Assist surgeons during procedures such as CABG and valve repairs by passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field
Monitor and interpret EKG strips and patient vitals during surgery
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure efficient patient care and safety
Manage surgical inventory and anticipate the needs of the surgical team

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR experience required
BLS and NIHSS certifications required
First-time travelers welcome to apply
Ability to take overnight call once per week and weekend call (3 days per month)

Knowledge & Skills

Strong understanding of cardiovascular surgical procedures and sterile technique
Proficient in EKG interpretation and Cerner EMR system
Excellent teamwork and communication skills in a fast-paced environment
Ability to adapt to varied shift schedules and call rotations
