Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts including weekends, self-scheduling (e.g., 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert nursing care to oncology and trauma patients in a mixed PCU/MedSurg unit
Monitor and titrate drips such as heparin and cardizem, administer chemotherapy (if certified)
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including PT/OT, case managers, and social workers
Float to med/surg and PCU units as needed, maintaining the same high standard of care
Perform hourly rounding, patient education, and ensure a compassionate, safe environment

Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of acute care experience in PCU, MedSurg, or Oncology
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
ONS/ONCC certification strongly preferred; chemotherapy certification a plus
Must pass a skills exam with 90% during orientation
First-time travelers are welcome; must reside 50+ miles from the facility
Valid driver's license required for submittal

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in Epic EMR and Alaris IV pumps
Ability to titrate common drips (insulin, cardizem)
Comfortable with ventilator and hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, A-line) – training available
Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability
Commitment to cultural sensitivity and patient-centered care
