Shift Type: Days 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM or Nights 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate care to patients with CHF, diabetic complications, pneumonia, COPD exacerbations, and post-surgical needs
Monitor telemetry strips and titrate drips like Heparin and Bumex as needed
Collaborate with CNAs and charge nurses to ensure optimal patient ratios (1:4-5 days, 1:5 nights)
Float as a helpful hand to other departments when fully cross-trained
Orient with 3-6 shifts, with extra support available if needed

Qualifications

Active Oregon RN license or eligibility for OR 90-day emergency license
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
Minimum experience in medical-surgical nursing
Comfortable with general pediatric patients occasionally
Ability to titrate drips infrequently

Knowledge & Skills

Strong med-surg assessment and critical thinking skills
Experience with telemetry monitoring and strip reading (with support from CCU)
Knowledge of common diagnoses: CHF, diabetic wounds, pneumonia, COPD, hip fractures, COVID-19
Familiarity with CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen equipment
Team player ready to assist as needed across units
