Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a medical/telemetry/PCU unit
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, titrate IV drips including Amio, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, and more
• Manage patients with cardiac conditions such as cardiac caths, EP studies, and pacers, as well as medical diagnoses like pneumonia, sepsis, and influenza
• Collaborate with charge nurses and patient care techs to maintain a safe nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4-5 (1:3 for PCU overflow)
• Read and interpret telemetry strips independently and respond to changes in patient condition
• Float to PCU, MS, or ER holds as needed, ensuring seamless patient care across units

Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Dakota or compact state
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of PCU or telemetry experience – must be comfortable reading strips and titrating drips
• EPIC experience preferred but not required
• First-time travelers welcome to apply!
• Must live outside 50-mile radius from Bismarck and not be employed with CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong cardiac and telemetry monitoring skills
• Proficient in IV drip titration (Amio, Cardizem, Heparin, Nitro, etc.)
• Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and strips
• Experience with EPIC electronic health records
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Adaptability to fast-paced, high-acuity patient care
