Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing function using evidence-based assessments
• Develop individualized treatment plans that set meaningful goals and track measurable progress
• Deliver skilled direct therapy and group interventions, adapting approaches to each patient
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and families to coordinate care and maximize outcomes
• Document assessments, progress notes, and discharge summaries clearly and on time
• Provide education and training to staff and caregivers to support carryover of therapy gains
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to patient-centered care planning

Qualifications

• State license in Speech-Language Pathology (Delaware license preferred or eligible to obtain)
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred
• 2+ years of clinical SLP experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical internships welcome to apply
• Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain prior to start
• Comfortable working in an inpatient/rehabilitation setting and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team
• Strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health records

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or equivalent) required
• ASHA CCC-SLP strongly preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment and treatment of speech, language, cognition, and swallowing disorders
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapy approaches and outcome measurement
• Excellent clinical reasoning and goal-writing skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient, family, and team interactions
• Ability to adapt therapy for varied ages and clinical presentations
• Competent with clinical documentation and regulatory requirements
