Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry tracings to detect and respond to patient changes promptly
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on the telemetry unit
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team to implement care plans
• Administer medications and IV therapies safely and document accurately
• Educate patients and families about condition management and recovery steps
• Prioritize patient safety through vigilant assessment, timely interventions, and clear handoffs

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (must meet state requirements)
• Telemetry nursing experience or demonstrated competency in cardiac monitoring
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Comfortable working per diem schedules and adapting to unit needs
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively on a busy team

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry and cardiac rhythm identification
• Basic and advanced cardiac monitoring equipment familiarity
• Proficient in medication administration and IV therapy
• Solid assessment skills and clinical judgment in acute care settings
• Good electronic charting and handoff communication skills
