Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care on a Med/Surg swing-bed unit, caring for adults, geriatrics and occasional pediatrics
• Administer medications and IV therapies, including IV antibiotics and wound care
• Float to the Emergency Department as needed to support patient volumes
• Use EPIC for accurate, timely charting and handoffs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate therapy, nursing care and discharge planning
• Support unit safety and quality initiatives; follow infection control and fingernail/artificial nail policies
• Serve as a dependable team player in a small-unit environment where flexibility matters

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to submit in Nebraska)
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience (Med/Surg and MUST HAVE ED experience for float duties)
• Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications
• Driver's license required at time of submittal (used to verify radius eligibility)
• Ability to pass orientation competency exam (open-book skills exam; 90% required)
• Willingness to float to ED and work collaboratively on a small team
• Must NOT be full-time, part-time, or PRN with any CommonSpirit-associated facility within the 50-mile radius

Education

• Active RN licensure in good standing (Nebraska)
• BSN not required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong Med/Surg assessment skills and clinical judgment
• Proficiency with EPIC charting and electronic documentation
• IV therapy, medication administration and wound care expertise
• Basic pediatric assessment skills (occasional peds exposure)
• Familiarity with telemetry/monitoring and ambulatory patient needs
• Excellent communication, teamwork and patient/family education skills
