Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care and treatments for patients with respiratory insufficiencies, asthma, pneumonia and COPD
• Manage mechanical ventilators (Servo I, Hamilton, Astral) and perform ventilator adjustments and weaning as needed
• Perform ABG analysis and interpret results to guide treatment
• Set up and manage noninvasive ventilation (CPAP/BiPAP, V60) and nebulizer therapies
• Deliver chest physiotherapy (CPT) and other therapeutic respiratory procedures
• Document all assessments and treatments accurately in the EMR (Meditech)
• Respond to respiratory emergencies and participate in code responses when required
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on respiratory care plans and device usage

Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
• Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital RRT experience
• Trauma experience preferred
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Ability to work night shift schedule (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

Knowledge & Skills

• Mechanical ventilation and ventilator management
• ABG collection and interpretation
• CPAP/BiPAP and noninvasive ventilation devices
• Chest physiotherapy (CPT) techniques
• Respiratory assessment and treatment planning
• Familiarity with Servo I, Hamilton, V60 and Astral equipment
• Documentation in Meditech EMR
• Team player, critical thinker, patient-focused, collaborative communication with physicians
