Roles & Responsibilities

Lead the implementation of a comprehensive risk management program ensuring compliance with Alaska statutes
Direct organization-wide patient safety initiatives to reduce medical errors and improve outcomes
Conduct safety assessments, Root Cause Analyses, and Failure Mode Effects Analyses with expert precision
Investigate and report adverse incidents while coordinating compassionate disclosures to patients and families
Facilitate patient safety rounds and deliver impactful education to staff, management, and physicians
Analyze patient grievances and stay ahead of industry risk trends to protect our community
Collaborate with leadership and Medical Directors on quality of care and peer review issues
Support accreditation efforts through chart audits, clinical reviews, and data analysis

Qualifications

Current full, unrestricted, active Registered Nursing license in Alaska (must apply before start date for direct hire)
Certified CPHRM within two years
Clinical Competency required within 3 months and every 3 years thereafter
3+ years experience in risk management, patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance

Education

Registered Nursing degree with active Alaska license

Knowledge & Skills

Strong leadership in facilitating cross-functional teams and collaborative group work
Expertise in investigating events, regulatory reporting, and process improvements
Knowledge of standards like DNV, TJC, CMS, CARF, and Alaska statutes
Proficiency in safety analyses including RCA and FMEA
