Location: College Station, TX

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts: days start at 6:45 AM, nights at 6:45 PM, with midshift options at 9 AM/PM, 11 AM/PM, 1 PM, 3 PM; every other weekend required

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide direct patient care in a fast-paced Level III Trauma ED with 18 beds including 4 critical rooms
Manage a diverse patient population including pediatrics, cardiac, stroke, trauma, and general emergencies
Perform and interpret EKGs, administer common ED drips (pressors, sedation, etc.), and assist with procedures
Collaborate with in-house MDs, midlevels, and support staff to deliver high-quality emergency care
Triage patients, handle psych holds with dedicated screening services, and float as needed to support other units

Qualifications

At least 2 years of recent ED experience
Active RN license in Texas or compact state
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
Must pass Advanced Dysrhythmia exam with 83% before starting
Flexible and adaptable to a busy Level III trauma center
Open to first-time travelers

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
Experience with common ED drips (e.g., pressors, sedation)
Ability to troubleshoot vents, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
Strong assessment skills for pediatric and adult patients
Comfortable with EKG performance and interpretation without monitor techs
