Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage and titrate ventilators for critically ill patients, ensuring safe and effective respiratory support
• Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling from A-lines or sticks and interpret results to guide care
• Deliver nebulizer treatments and other airway therapies with attention to patient comfort and outcomes
• Assist with intubations, codes and rapid response situations as an integral member of the resuscitation team
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and the respiratory team to develop and adjust patient care plans
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) and communicate changes clearly at handoff
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment (Servo and 840 ventilators) to ensure readiness

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of relevant respiratory therapy or critical care experience (as listed)
• Demonstrated critical care skills with strong ventilator management experience (must-have)
• Good assessment skills and the ability to make timely clinical decisions
• Comfort assisting with intubations, codes and rapid responses
• Experience with Meditech or similar EMR preferred
• Team-player attitude and the ability to thrive in a busy, fast-paced unit

• Ventilator management (Servo and 840 familiarity)

• Nebulizer and airway treatment administration
• Intubation assistance and code response
• Critical care assessment and monitoring
• Documenting in Meditech or comparable EMR systems
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
