Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM, at least every third weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $56 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, specialized care to adult behavioral health patients aged 55 and older
Manage a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio while delivering individualized treatment plans
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to support patients with dementia, bipolar disorder, and other psychiatric conditions
Monitor patient safety and utilize the seclusion room when necessary
Float to med-surg and OB units as needed, bringing your versatile skills to different patient populations
Complete a thorough 3-shift unit orientation to ensure confidence and success from day one

Qualifications

Active RN license in Utah or compact state
Current BLS certification
Experience floating outside of psych is highly preferred
Ability to work 12-hour shifts and every third weekend
Willingness to complete orientation in-state even if modules are remote

Knowledge & Skills

Strong assessment and de-escalation skills for geriatric psychiatric patients
Ability to adapt quickly when floating to other units
Solid understanding of behavioral health protocols and safety procedures
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
