Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform blood draws, injections, child immunizations, and lab tests within MA scope
- Assist physicians during examinations, taking vital signs and preparing patients
- Keep exam rooms clean, stocked, and ready for patient care
- Handle patient phone calls, relay instructions from physicians, and provide education
- Manage medical records, including referral forms, lab slips, and documentation
- Guide patients to and from exam rooms, assist with procedures, and ensure comfort
Qualifications
- At least 2 years in a formal Medical Assistant curriculum or special MA training
- Minimum 3 years demonstrated relevant experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical setting
- Current Medical Assistant certification (required, documentation needed)
- BLS Certification (required, documentation needed)
- Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and maintain confidentiality
Education
- Formal Medical Assistant curriculum or special training for Medical Assistants
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in blood draws, injections, and vital signs measurement
- Skilled in patient care, clinical support, and medical records documentation
- Experience with child immunizations and lab tests
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Organized, caring, and patient-focused with a professional demeanor
