Medical Technologist - Generalist
Location: Windsor, Vermont
Start Date: 08-24-2026
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating shifts: Every other Wednesday 6:00 PM - 6:30 AM, Every other Friday-Tuesday 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM. 36 hours per week, includes weekend and holiday rotation.
Hours per Week: 60
Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Work independently and hit the ground running from day one
- Obtain blood specimens from patients of all ages (pediatric to geriatric)
- Perform high-proficiency testing in chemistry, hematology, blood bank, urinalysis, and microbiology
- Read Gram stains and plate culture specimens in microbiology
- Maintain knowledge of specific specimen requirements and proper order of draw
- Prepare specimens for in-lab testing or off-site shipment
- Ensure blood-drawing stations are clean and well stocked
- Collaborate with a team to deliver accurate lab results in a critical access hospital
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years recent Medical Technologist/MT/MLS experience required
- National Certification (NCCT not accepted) required - must document at submission
- Active American Heart Association BLS certification required
- High proficiency in phlebotomy, chemistry, hematology, blood bank, urinalysis, and microbiology
- Ability to work independently within two weeks of start date
- Own vehicle required - no public transport in this small community
- Travel experience strongly preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in all areas of the lab as a generalist
- Proficiency in phlebotomy and venipuncture
- Experience with Cerner EMR
- Strong specimen handling and processing skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
