Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and recovery
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, responding quickly to changes
• Assist with deliveries, including cesarean sections, and provide immediate newborn care
• Educate families on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and infant health
• Collaborate with physicians, midwives, and the healthcare team to ensure safe outcomes
• Maintain a calm and reassuring presence during one of life's most memorable moments

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in Iowa or compact state
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring certifications required
• At least 1 year of experience in Labor and Delivery preferred
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Expertise in fetal monitoring and interpretation
• Proficiency in maternal and neonatal assessment
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking
• Ability to perform under pressure with grace
• Patient and family education skills
