Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during operative procedures, ensuring a sterile environment
• Prepare and organize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team throughout procedures
• Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique and safety protocols
• Assist with patient positioning and draping before surgery
• Perform counts of sponges, needles, and instruments to prevent retention

Qualifications

• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification through NBSTSA
• BLS certification required
• Experience in a hospital OR setting preferred
• Ability to take on-call shifts, including weekends

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of surgical aseptic technique and sterile processing
• Familiarity with a wide range of surgical instruments and equipment
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to remain calm and focused in fast-paced environments
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
