Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms to maintain a safe environment
• Take and develop dental X-rays as directed by the orthodontist
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care with a friendly approach
• Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment plans in our system
• Help create a welcoming and comfortable experience for every patient

Qualifications

• Active Dental Assistant certification or license as required by Maryland state regulations
• Previous experience in orthodontics is a plus, but we're happy to train the right candidate
• Radiology certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
• Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first attitude
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization techniques, and infection control protocols
• Proficiency with dental practice management software
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work collaboratively with a close-knit team
