Orthodontic Dental Assistant
Location: Parkville, Maryland
Start Date: 09-14-2026
End Date: 09-14-2026
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 12:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $35 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms to maintain a safe environment
- Take and develop dental X-rays as directed by the orthodontist
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care with a friendly approach
- Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment plans in our system
- Help create a welcoming and comfortable experience for every patient
Qualifications
- Active Dental Assistant certification or license as required by Maryland state regulations
- Previous experience in orthodontics is a plus, but we're happy to train the right candidate
- Radiology certification or willingness to obtain upon hire
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first attitude
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization techniques, and infection control protocols
- Proficiency with dental practice management software
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work collaboratively with a close-knit team
