Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist orthodontists during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and efficiency
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms
• Take and process dental X-rays and impressions
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes
• Support a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all patients

Qualifications

• Certified Orthodontic Dental Assistant (CODA or equivalent)
• Current Maryland Dental Assistant license or certification required
• Experience with orthodontic procedures and equipment preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in taking X-rays and dental impressions
• Knowledge of orthodontic instruments and sterilization protocols
• Familiarity with dental software (e.g., Denticon) a plus
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities
• Patient-focused with a gentle and caring demeanor
