Orthodontic Dental Assistant (MD)
Location: Parkville, Maryland

Contract Type: Per-Diem
Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 12:30 PM - 8:00 PM
Candidate Pay Rate: $35 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists during procedures, ensuring patient comfort and efficiency
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms
- Take and process dental X-rays and impressions
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and orthodontic care
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes
- Support a positive and welcoming atmosphere for all patients
Qualifications
- Certified Orthodontic Dental Assistant (CODA or equivalent)
- Current Maryland Dental Assistant license or certification required
- Experience with orthodontic procedures and equipment preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in taking X-rays and dental impressions
- Knowledge of orthodontic instruments and sterilization protocols
- Familiarity with dental software (e.g., Denticon) a plus
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Patient-focused with a gentle and caring demeanor
