Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM and 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM

Hours per Week: 48

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-acuity care to adult patients on a 40-bed Progressive Care Unit
Manage titratable drips including Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and insulin
Interpret telemetry strips and respond promptly to cardiac changes
Insert and manage arterial lines while monitoring patient response
Collaborate with a supportive interdisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient experiences
Float to MedSurg or ICU as needed while maintaining PCU-level care standards
Champion patient education, medication communication, and responsiveness scores

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Competency in arterial line management and titratable drips
Strong telemetry interpretation skills
Ability to arrive within 30 minutes when called in from on-call status
Willingness to complete open-book skills exam with 90% or higher during orientation

Knowledge & Skills

Telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation
Titration of cardiac and vasoactive medications
Arterial line management
Care for cardiac, vascular, sepsis, stroke, dialysis, and respiratory patients
Patient experience focus and clear medication communication
Flexibility to float and adapt to changing unit needs
