Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality nursing care to PCU patients, many in solid organ transplant pathways
• Monitor and assess patient condition frequently and intervene promptly to maintain stability
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document thoroughly in Meditech
• Coordinate care with transplant surgeons, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team for optimal patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on post-op care, discharge planning, and medication management
• Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to maintain patient ratios and unit flow
• Participate in shift handoffs and unit quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure appropriate for assignment
• Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience (PCU, med-surg, telemetry or transplant experience preferred)
• BLS required
• ACLS required
• Experience with Meditech or similar EMR is a plus
• Strong time management and ability to work in a fast-paced acute care setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid organ transplant care knowledge and post-op monitoring
• Telemetry and intermediate acuity patient management
• Proficient documentation and charting in Meditech
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Clear communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
• Patient and family education techniques
