Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality PCU nursing care for telemetry and post-procedure patients in a 15-bed unit
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and telemetry closely to detect and respond to changes quickly
• Manage post EP lab and post cath lab patients, including sheath management and hemostasis
• Administer and titrate IV drips (gtts) safely and accurately
• Document patient care thoroughly in Cerner to ensure continuity and accuracy
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute patient-centered care plans
• Support unit flow and staff needs, including stepping into charge duties when required

Qualifications

• Active RN license (must meet state requirements)
• Minimum 2+ years clinical nursing experience
• BLS and ACLS required
• Experience in PCU/Telemetry and post-procedure care (post EP, post cath)
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical record
• Competency in sheath management and IV drip (gtts) administration
• Charge experience preferred
• Flexible, calm demeanor and ability to thrive in a fast-paced cardiac unit

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Post-procedure cardiac care (EP and cath lab patients)
• Sheath management techniques and hemostasis practices
• IV medication titration and drip management (gtts)
• Electronic charting using Cerner
• Strong prioritization, communication, and teamwork skills
• Comfort working with 3-4:1 patient ratios in a step-down setting
