Roles & Responsibilities

• Administer and manage chemotherapy regimens (continuous infusions and oral therapies) with strict adherence to safety protocols
• Perform IV therapy, infusions and manage central/implanted lines and ports to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Monitor patients closely for chemotherapy-related toxicities and respond promptly to oncologic emergencies
• Administer blood and blood products safely and document accurately in Epic
• Provide symptom management and supportive care for complex oncology-related issues (nausea, neuropathy, edema, altered mental status)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, neutropenic precautions and home care following treatments

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in California
• Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience
• Charting experience in Epic (required)
• BLS certification (required)
• Chemotherapy certification (ONS/ONCC) preferred but not required
• Demonstrated competency in IV therapy, central line and port care
• Ability to safely administer and monitor chemotherapy and blood products

Knowledge & Skills

• Administration and continuous infusion monitoring of chemotherapy
• Oral chemotherapy management
• IV therapy and infusion skills
• Central line/implanted line and port care
• Administration of blood and blood products
• Oncologic emergency recognition and response (e.g., tumor lysis, anaphylaxis, extravasation)
• Neutropenic precautions and infection prevention
• Chest tube care and post-procedure monitoring
• Symptom management for chemo-related side effects
• Proficiency with Epic electronic charting
