Shift Type: Night shifts, 3x12-hour nights per week (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM), 36 hours/week. Self-scheduling per unit needs; includes weekend coverage (approximately 3 Fridays, 3 Saturdays and 3 Sundays in a 6-week period). Night

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert bedside care for critically ill neonates, including ventilator management and advanced respiratory support
- Manage invasive lines and vascular access such as UACs, UVCs and central lines with vigilance and skill
- Administer and titrate IV therapies and emergency medications following unit protocols
- Deliver specialty treatments including therapeutic hypothermia and Nitric Oxide therapy safely and effectively
- Chart accurately in Epic and utilize Pyxis and unit technologies to ensure continuity of care
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team — respiratory, pharmacy, PT, radiology and social work — to create individualized care plans
- Support and educate families through high-stress situations, offering clear communication and compassionate guidance
- Float as needed to pediatrics/PICU/nursery caring for infants up to 12 months while maintaining high standards of care
Qualifications
- Active RN license in the practicing state or compact license as applicable
- Minimum 3 years of NICU experience in a Level 3 or 4 ICN/NICU (do not submit candidates with less than 3 years)
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Demonstrated ventilator experience (AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BiPAP/PEEP), experience with Servo vents and HFOV preferred
- Comfortable with central line care, UAC/UVC management, tracheostomy care and feeding tube placement/management
- Experience with Epic charting and Pyxis preferred
- Travelers accepted; first-time travelers will be considered
- Flu vaccination required per facility guideline (medical/religious exemptions allowed); COVID-19 vaccine not required
Knowledge & Skills
- Expertise in neonatal ventilator management and advanced respiratory modalities
- Therapeutic hypothermia and Nitric Oxide (INO) administration and monitoring
- Umbilical catheter (UAC/UVC) and central line care
- IV therapy including vasopressors and infusion pump management (Alaris, Med Fusion)
- Familiarity with neonatal-specific equipment: Tecotherm, BCPAP, Ram NC, Baby Leo, Giraffe
- Proficient use of Epic and Pyxis for charting and medication management
- Strong family-centered communication, SBAR handoff technique, and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Ability to manage surgical neonates, prematures (as low as 22 weeks), and complex post-op care
