Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care for neuro PCU patients
• Perform thorough neurological assessments and communicate changes promptly
• Administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and accurately
• Monitor telemetry and hemodynamic status, escalating concerns to the team
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary staff to support recovery
• Document patient care clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
• Support patient and family education with compassion and clarity

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the required state (or compact license where accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience (PCU, neuro, or progressive care preferred)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications per facility policy
• Strong clinical assessment skills and comfort managing higher-acuity patients
• Ability to work independently during night shifts while collaborating with the care team

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of neuro assessment and progressive care unit protocols
• Skilled in patient monitoring, recognizing subtle neurologic changes
• Proficient with medication administration and safe documentation practices
• Critical thinking and prioritization in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Clear communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
