Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (0630-1830 or 1830-0630), every other weekend and holidays as needed

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide critical care to adult and pediatric patients (over 15 years old) in a fast-paced 34-bed Med Surg ICU
Monitor and titrate vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics as needed
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including attendings, fellows, and residents
Participate in rapid response and code situations, demonstrating strong critical thinking skills
Float to other inpatient units excluding Maternity/NICU as required
Conduct thorough patient assessments and interpret telemetry strips independently

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Driver's license required for radius verification
Must pass an open-book exam during orientation with a 90% or higher
No artificial nails allowed in patient care areas

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips
Experience with ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
Skilled in reading and interpreting telemetry strips
Ability to use monitoring systems like Draeger and devices such as Impella, balloon pump, CRRT, and ICP monitors (training available)
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Positive attitude and willingness to help others
