Location: Omaha, NE

End Date: 10-05-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, every other weekend and holidays as needed

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $66 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in a fast-paced Med Surg ICU
Monitor and assess patient conditions, titrate vasopressors and sedation as needed
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, residents, and fellows
Perform advanced monitoring such as ICP, CVP, and arterial lines
Educate patients and families about treatment plans and recovery
Respond to rapid response teams and codes as charge nurse support

Qualifications

Current and valid RN license in Nebraska or compact state
Minimum of 2 years recent ICU experience
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
Valid driver's license required at submittal
Ability to pass an open-book medication exam with 90%
Strong critical thinking, positive attitude, and ability to ask questions

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of advanced hemodynamic monitoring (CVP, arterial lines, Swans)
Skill in titrating vasopressors, paralytics, and sedation
Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and telemetry
Familiarity with ventilator management and high-flow oxygen
Understanding of critical care conditions: ARDS, sepsis, stroke, MODS
Proficiency in electronic health records and charting
