Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the Specialty Services outpatient team to improve access, safety, and patient experience
• Partner with leadership to optimize scheduling, referral coordination, and clinic throughput
• Standardize workflows and drive quality improvement to reduce wait times and enhance efficiency
• Ensure clinical reliability by maintaining up-to-date policies, procedures, competencies, and regulatory readiness
• Monitor key performance and quality metrics and implement corrective actions to drive continuous improvement
• Oversee staffing, recruitment, orientation, and professional development for nursing and clinic staff
• Maintain supply and equipment readiness and recommend purchases to support care delivery
• Manage special projects and initiatives that expand and improve specialty and surgery clinic services

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of varied RN experience with at least 1 year in ambulatory/outpatient care
• At least 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience in healthcare
• Current, full, unrestricted RN license in Alaska or ability to obtain Alaska license within 6 months
• Active BLS certification required
• Clinical competency and manager competency to be achieved within 3 months of hire (and maintained per policy)
• Proven strengths in team leadership, change management, and service excellence

Education

• Associate's degree in Nursing required
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of the nursing process and clinical assessment
• Infection control and patient safety best practices
• Quality improvement (QI/QA) and regulatory readiness (Joint Commission awareness)
• Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and customer service skills
• Staffing, scheduling, referral coordination, and patient flow optimization
• Computer and technical skills relevant to ambulatory clinic operations
• Specimen collection and other clinical skills required in outpatient settings
