Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to high-risk laboring and delivery patients, including antepartum and postpartum care
• Perform vaginal exams, internal monitor placement, and fetal monitoring independently
• Circulate and recover C-section patients alongside the surgical team
• Titrate critical drips such as Magnesium Sulfate, Pitocin, Insulin, and Heparin
• Float to postpartum unit as needed to support patient care
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and certified surgical techs in a Level 3 high-risk facility
• Read and interpret fetal monitor strips effectively (ACLS and AFM certified)

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Nevada or compact state
• At least 2 years of recent L&D experience in a high-risk setting
• Ability to work independently and confidently with vaginal exams, high-risk labor, and antepartum patients
• Willingness to float to postpartum and other units as needed
• Comfortable with titrating drips and circulating C-sections

Knowledge & Skills

• Advanced fetal monitoring (AFM) and fetal strip interpretation
• ACLS and NRP certification
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Experience with Cerner charting system
• Strong communication and teamwork skills in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of AWHONN guidelines for nurse-to-patient ratios
