Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide critical care to a diverse patient population including trauma, cardiac, stroke, sepsis, and respiratory distress
• Titrate cardiac drips, insulin, sedation, and other intravenous medications safely
• Interpret and document ECG strips using GE monitors and collaborate with telemetry oversight
• Float to PCU and MedSurg units as needed, maintaining appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios
• Collaborate with healthcare support techs and nurse aides to optimize patient care
• Participate in orientation and pass open-book skills exam to ensure competency

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Nebraska or a compact state required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications mandatory
• At least 2 years of ICU experience preferred, with proficiency in titrating drips and interpreting cardiac rhythms
• Floating experience to PCU or MedSurg is a plus
• Driver's license required for radius verification

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in managing patients on ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Strong skills in titrating and monitoring cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation
• Ability to read, interpret, and document cardiac rhythms independently
• Knowledge of trauma, cardiac, stroke, and renal failure patient care
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills for floating to various units
