Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts (6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM), rotating days and nights, every other weekend

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide critical care to a diverse ICU patient population including trauma, cardiac, stroke, and respiratory distress cases
Titrate and manage cardiac drips, insulin, and sedation as ordered
Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and respond to changes in patient condition
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including respiratory therapists and nurse aides
Participate in an open-book orientation exam to ensure competency
Float to PCU or MedSurg as needed, maintaining appropriate patient ratios

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
Minimum 1 year recent ICU experience preferred
Ability to pass a 90% pass/fail open-book exam during orientation
Valid driver's license to verify distance from facility
Willingness to comply with artificial nail policy in patient care areas

Knowledge & Skills

Proficiency in reading and interpreting telemetry and cardiac drips
Knowledge of ventilator management and high-flow oxygen therapy
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for rapid changes in patient status
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively
Familiarity with GE monitoring systems preferred
