Location: Kearney, Nebraska

End Date: 10-05-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts, 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM or 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM, every other weekend and holidays as needed

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $64 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive critical care to patients with complex conditions such as trauma, cardiac issues, stroke, sepsis, and respiratory distress.
Monitor and interpret telemetry strips and titrate cardiac, insulin, and sedation drips as needed.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including respiratory therapists and nursing aides to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Float to PCU or MedSurg units as needed, maintaining appropriate nurse-to-patient ratios.
Document and communicate patient changes effectively and participate in orientation and competency exams.

Qualifications

Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state required.
BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required at time of start.
Minimum of 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience strongly preferred.
Ability to float to PCU and MedSurg units and adapt to varying patient acuity.
Driver's license required for distance verification.

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in cardiac drip titration, telemetry interpretation, and management of ventilated patients.
Strong assessment and critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of common ICU diagnoses including trauma, cardiac, stroke, and sepsis management.
Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.
