Location: Bakersfield, California

Start Date: 06-22-2026

End Date: 09-28-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM start with variable lengths, plus call rotation including weekends and holidays

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $98 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Assist surgeons as the first assistant during complex orthopedic, robotic, neuro, and GYN procedures
Provide expert support during total joints, robotic hysterectomies, spine surgeries, and vascular cases
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes across multiple specialties
Float between campuses as needed while maintaining high standards of care
Respond to call within 30 minutes to support urgent surgical needs

Qualifications

Active RNFA certification with current BLS and ACLS credentials
Strong experience in ortho, robotics, neuro, and GYN surgical specialties
Comfortable scrubbing and assisting in a fast-paced OR environment
Cerner EMR experience preferred
Ability to float between campuses and take call as scheduled

Knowledge & Skills

Expert knowledge of orthopedic procedures including totals, scopes, and robotic cases
Proficiency with DaVinci robotic systems and advanced surgical techniques
Understanding of neuro, GYN oncology, urology, and vascular procedures
Strong communication and teamwork abilities in the operating room
Flexibility to adapt to varying shift lengths and call schedules
