Location: Bakersfield, California

Start Date: 07-06-2026

End Date: 10-05-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts available: Days (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, 9:00 AM - 9:30 PM), Mid-shifts (10:00 AM - 10:30 PM, 11:00 AM - 11:30 PM, 1:00 PM - 1:30 AM, 3:00 PM - 3:30 AM), Nights (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM). Self-scheduling with weekend requirement (4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule).

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $76 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population
Triage patients and prioritize care based on acuity
Administer medications, IV therapies, and lifesaving interventions
Monitor telemetry and ventilator patients with precision
Collaborate with a dynamic team of physicians, midlevels, and techs
Educate patients and families on discharge plans and follow-up care

Qualifications

Active California RN license (or compact license accepted)
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room experience
Cerner EMR proficiency preferred
Must be able to work weekends and holidays as scheduled

Knowledge & Skills

Telemetry monitoring with Philips systems
Ventilator management
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment
Comfort with treating correctional and homeless populations
