Location: Lufkin, Texas

Start Date: 07-13-2026

End Date: 10-12-2026

Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: Flexible 12-hour shifts: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (Nights), 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, 1:00 PM - 1:00 AM, 3:00 PM - 3:00 AM; every other weekend and holiday rotation.

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $55 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population
Manage trauma, stroke, sepsis, CHF, and cardiac cases in a fast-paced 24-bed ED with 3 trauma bays
Perform ECG rhythm interpretation and monitor patients with telemetry needs
Collaborate with physicians, mid-levels, and support staff to ensure optimal outcomes
Triage patients and manage holds when needed
Float to other units as qualified when required

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
Active RN license in Texas or compact state
Must not have been employed by CommonSpirit/CHI/Dignity in the past year
Comfortable with 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio

Knowledge & Skills

Proficient in ACLS, BLS, TNCC, and PALs or ENTC
Experience with Paragon EMR system
Strong ECG rhythm interpretation skills
Ability to care for holds and manage high-acuity patients
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
