Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered emergency nursing care in a fast-paced ED environment
• Assess, triage, and prioritize patients quickly and accurately to ensure timely treatment
• Administer medications and treatments safely, following established protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, techs, and other team members to develop and execute care plans
• Monitor patient status and respond to changes with appropriate interventions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses thoroughly and professionally
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and follow-up care

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license (New York) or compact RN license with New York authorization — must be active prior to start
• Minimum clinical experience in Emergency Department nursing preferred
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred or willing to obtain
• Strong assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Current ACLS/BLS certifications (or willing to obtain upon hire)

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN). BSN preferred but not required.

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of emergency triage and acute care nursing principles
• Familiarity with ED equipment and monitoring (cardiac monitors, IV pumps, etc.)
• Effective communication skills with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Strong documentation and electronic charting skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple critical tasks under pressure
