Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a diverse patient population in a fast-paced 18-bed ED
• Triage and treat patients ranging from minor injuries to critical conditions, including CDCR patients and high-acuity cases
• Collaborate with a dedicated team of physicians, midlevels, LVNs, and ED techs to ensure efficient patient flow
• Utilize Cerner EMR to document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately
• Maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios (1:4; 1:2 for ICU patients) and advocate for patient safety
• Participate in self-scheduling and float between two campuses (6.5 miles apart) as needed

Qualifications

• Active California RN license in good standing
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Department experience preferred
• Strong teamwork and communication skills; must be able to work as primary job
• Ability to adapt to a high-volume setting (85-115 patients per day)

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in emergency nursing procedures, including ventilator management and cardiac stabilization
• Familiarity with Phillips telemetry and Omnicell pharmacy systems
• Proficient in Cerner EMR
• Strong critical thinking and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams
