Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day and Night): 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Every-other-weekend and every-other-holiday requirement; primarily night coverage with floating to ED holds as needed. Guaranteed ~36 hours/week (12-hour shifts).

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care across ED and MedSurg populations, prioritizing safety and compassionate service
• Titrate and manage drips per unit protocols, ensuring safe medication administration and vigilant monitoring
• Perform telemetry monitoring and interpret strips as needed; escalate changes promptly
• Triage and manage emergency presentations in the ED, collaborating with physicians and the care team
• Document thoroughly and efficiently in EPIC to maintain accurate patient records
• Serve as a charge nurse when scheduled, coordinating patient flow and supporting staff
• Float between ED holds and MedSurg swing beds as needed to meet patient care demands
• Support unit workflows, mentor peers and contribute to a positive team culture

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license eligible for submission (License to Submit: Yes)
• BLS and ACLS certification (required)
• Minimum of 1 year of MedSurg experience (job posting also lists 2 years of experience)
• Experience with drip titration and telemetry monitoring
• Comfort with ED workflows and acute/urgent patient presentations
• Ability to float to ED holds and perform charge nurse duties when assigned
• Familiarity with EPIC charting system
• Professional communication skills and teamwork mindset

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Nursing Diploma accepted (BSN not required)

Knowledge & Skills

• MedSurg clinical skills and assessment
• Emergency Department triage and acute care management
• Telemetry interpretation and monitor strip reading
• Drip titration and IV medication management
• Basic ventilatory support knowledge (vent use in ED, CPAP/BiPAP, NEBS, O2 therapies)
• Proficient EPIC charting and clinical documentation
• Charge nurse coordination and patient flow management
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour shifts and adapt to floating requirements
