Shift Type: Monday-Friday, Day shift (predominantly day hours); flexibility required to work mid shifts and take Open Heart call as needed

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide expert perioperative nursing care in the cardiovascular operating room for open-heart procedures
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the perioperative team to ensure excellent patient outcomes
Maintain and monitor sterile field and intraoperative patient safety standards throughout cases
Anticipate surgical needs and prepare specialized instrumentation and equipment for CVOR procedures
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support the clinical ladder and team growth
Support patients and families with compassionate communication before, during, and after surgery

Qualifications

Current RN licensure required
Minimum 3 years Operating Room experience required
Cardiac Open-Heart experience required
CVOR experience required
BSN preferred; candidates committing to obtain BSN within three years of hire will be considered
Willingness to take Open Heart call and work occasional mid shifts

Education

BSN preferred; relevant nursing education and active RN licensure required

Knowledge & Skills

Strong knowledge of operating room workflows and perioperative nursing practices
Expertise in cardiac open-heart procedures and CVOR protocols
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced surgical teams and prioritize patient safety
Familiarity with sterile technique and intraoperative patient monitoring
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
