Roles & Responsibilities

• Oversee communication and coordination of patient care across departments
• Daily rounding in Acute Care, Birthing Center, Cancer, Wound and Infusion, Emergency Department, and Surgery to assess and manage patient transfers
• Lead in setting a professional work environment by mentoring staff and serving as a resource for clinical questions and interventions
• Assist directors with timely behavior expectations and ensure proper follow-up with department directors
• Provide direct patient care as needed and ensure adequate staffing to meet patient needs
• Retrieve necessary items for patient care across departments
• Determine proper patient placement for admissions to Acute Care
• Assist with after-hours pharmacy needs
• Activate and manage Incident Command during Mass Casualty Incidents
• Coordinate staffing needs between departments and perform other duties as requested

Qualifications

• Two-year degree in nursing (ADN) required; BSN preferred
• Active Wisconsin Registered Nursing license required
• BLS certification required or obtained within 1 month of hire
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required or obtained within 12 months of hire (TNCC encouraged)
• Minimum of 3 years of related work experience in a hospital setting

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong nursing and patient care skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Mentoring and leadership experience
• Proficiency in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP
• Knowledge of emergency response and Incident Command
• Ability to work collaboratively across departments
