Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare procedure rooms and equipment to ensure safe, efficient cardiovascular and EP procedures.
• Review patient charts and verify documentation, labs, and consents prior to procedures to promote smooth case flow.
• Assess and prep patients for procedures, providing vigilant pre- and post-procedure monitoring and handoffs to receiving staff.
• Circulate and assist during diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations, EP procedures, structural heart cases, and neuro-interventional procedures.
• Administer procedural sedation per unit policy and monitor patient responses throughout the procedure.
• Document procedures and patient care accurately and in real time using MacLab/CardioLab and electronic health records.
• Communicate abnormal findings immediately to physicians or nurse practitioners and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Support staff development by participating in preceptorship and mentoring of new team members.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
• ICU, CVICU, IMC, or Cath Lab experience required; new grads and med/surg-only nurses are not being considered
• Experience working in a Cardiovascular and Electrophysiology Lab strongly preferred
• Ability to independently circulate procedures, operate X-ray fluoroscopy equipment, and document in MacLab/CardioLab
• Comfort with variable shift lengths, on-call responsibilities, and occasionally working holidays/weekends

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Associate Degree in Nursing acceptable if BSN obtained within 36 months of hire, or Nursing Diploma from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Patient preparation and monitoring for invasive cardiac and neuro-interventional procedures
• Procedure circulation and room setup with attention to sterile technique and safety checks
• MacLab/CardioLab documentation and electronic documentation skills
• Proficiency with intra-cardiac ultrasound, 3D mapping systems, and hemodynamics for structural and EP cases
• Strong handoff communication, clinical assessment, and critical thinking during high-acuity procedures
• Ability to administer and monitor procedural sedation safely
