Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to assigned patients, ensuring safety and comfort
• Rapidly respond to Emergency Department arrivals and transition to ER care when needed
• Perform nursing assessments, triage, administer medications, and document care accurately
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient treatment
• Maintain current certifications and complete Trinity specialty competency testing and skills checklists
• Participate in holiday and weekend rotations as scheduled to ensure continuous patient coverage
• Communicate clearly with patients and families to explain care plans and support positive outcomes

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure (license verification required)
• Current BLS certification
• Current PALS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• TNCC certification (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• NIHSS competency
• Experience in Medical-Surgical and/or Emergency Department nursing preferred
• Ability to pass required health screenings: drug screen, fit test, immunizations and TB testing

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medical-surgical nursing skills and judgment
• Emergency triage and rapid assessment capability
• Trauma-informed care and TNCC protocols
• Stroke assessment familiarity using NIHSS
• Accurate medication administration and clinical documentation
• Ability to prioritize in a small-unit setting (ADC noted as 3) and flex to ED needs
