Physical Therapist – UHC Staffing

Physical Therapist

Location: Skowhegan, ME

Contract Type: Perm

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Day; weekend rotation)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $38 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Evaluate patients thoroughly to develop individualized treatment plans
Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve function and mobility
Provide hands-on/manual therapy and supervise therapeutic exercise programs
Document patient progress accurately and communicate updates with the care team
Educate patients and families to promote independence and safe home programs
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate high-quality care
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain clinical best practices

Qualifications

Licensed Physical Therapist in Maine or eligible for Maine licensure
Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred; related PT degree accepted
Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
Strong clinical assessment and manual therapy skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills; patient-centered approach
Previous experience in a similar setting preferred but new grads with strong clinical skills are encouraged to apply

Education

Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred
Bachelor's or Master's in Physical Therapy accepted where applicable

Knowledge & Skills

Solid knowledge of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular rehabilitation
Proficiency in therapeutic modalities, gait training, and assistive device training
Skilled in clinical documentation and outcome measurement
Ability to create clear, progressive home exercise programs
Strong interpersonal skills for patient and family education
