Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients' functional abilities and develop personalized occupational therapy plans
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve daily living skills
• Collaborate with nurses, PTs, SLPs, physicians, and caregivers to optimize patient outcomes
• Document patient progress, treatment plans, and discharge summaries in the medical record
• Train patients and family members on adaptive techniques and use of assistive devices
• Recommend adaptive equipment, splints, and environmental modifications to enhance independence
• Monitor and modify treatment plans based on patient response and evolving goals

Qualifications

• Current OTR or OTR/L credential (or eligible) required
• Active California occupational therapy license or ability to obtain state licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; other facility-required certifications welcomed
• Experience working in inpatient rehab or skilled nursing preferred
• Strong clinical reasoning, documentation skills, and a collaborative attitude

Education

• Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program (BS, entry-level MS, or OTD)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL/IADL assessment and intervention
• Knowledge of therapeutic exercise, adaptive equipment, and splinting techniques
• Experience with goal-driven treatment planning and measurable outcomes
• Comfortable using electronic health records for documentation
• Excellent communication and interdisciplinary teamwork skills
• Ability to educate patients and caregivers in a compassionate, practical way
