Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and evaluate patients' functional abilities and develop individualized OT treatment plans
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve independence and quality of life
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient-centered care
• Provide adaptive equipment recommendations, training, and home safety education
• Document progress clearly and timely to support continuity of care and outcomes
• Engage patients and families with compassionate education and goal-driven therapy
• Contribute to discharge planning and community resources to support long-term success

Qualifications

• Current OTR/L credential in good standing
• State licensure in New Mexico or eligibility to obtain New Mexico licensure
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (or obtain upon hire)
• Experience in rehabilitation, acute care, or outpatient settings preferred
• Strong clinical reasoning, patient communication, and documentation skills
• Comfort working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team

Education

• Master's degree in Occupational Therapy or entry-level Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (as required for licensure)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in ADL/IADL assessment and training
• Knowledge of adaptive equipment, splinting basics, and therapeutic modalities
• Proficient with clinical documentation and goal-oriented treatment planning
• Ability to perform patient and caregiver education with empathy and clarity
• Familiarity with mobility, balance, and cognitive interventions in rehab settings
• Strong time management and caseload prioritization skills

This is a travel assignment based in Belen, a small, welcoming community on the Rio Grande. Enjoy birdwatching and seasonal migrations at nearby Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, explore scenic river trails and local parks, and dive into regional history at the Belen Harvey House Museum and railroad attractions. Albuquerque is a short drive away for dining, cultural events, Old Town charm, the International Balloon Fiesta, and outdoor adventures in the Sandia Mountains.
