Location: St. Louis, MO

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: 6-hour shifts; specific start/end times to be confirmed (orientation required)

Candidate Pay Rate: $34 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Perform routine and specialized clinical laboratory tests accurately and efficiently
Receive, label and process patient specimens following standard protocols
Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring proper calibration and QC
Document results clearly and communicate critical findings to the care team
Follow strict infection control and safety procedures at all times
Participate in orientation and training to maintain high standards of practice

Qualifications

Certified Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or equivalent certification preferred
State licensure if required by Missouri regulations
Experience performing clinical lab testing in a hospital or clinical setting preferred
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and patient safety
Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clinicians

Education

Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field

Knowledge & Skills

Specimen handling and processing best practices
Quality control (QC) procedures and documentation
Familiarity with common lab analyzers and instrumentation
Understanding of laboratory information systems (LIS) or willingness to learn
Basic troubleshooting and preventative maintenance for lab equipment
