Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the perioperative team to ensure safe, efficient surgical services and exceptional patient care.
• Oversee circulating RN activities in the OR, ensuring adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Identify, evaluate, and implement short-term and long-term solutions to operational and clinical problems.
• Delegate duties and maintain efficient standards of operations while fostering a collaborative team environment.
• Develop and mentor staff through coaching, competency assessment, and performance feedback.
• Coordinate with physicians, ancillary departments, and leadership to streamline patient flow and surgical schedules.
• Maintain composure and guide the team during emergencies, ensuring immediate, appropriate responses.
• Ensure physical and safety standards are met, including proper handling of hazardous materials and safe patient handling practices.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (Required).
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (Required).
• Current California RN license (Required).
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (Required).
• Minimum of 5 years RN experience, including at least 2 years as a circulating RN in surgery (Required).
• CNOR certification (Preferred).
• One year post-anesthesia care experience (Preferred).
• Previous leadership, supervisory, or management experience (Preferred).
• Strong written and oral English skills (Required).

Education

• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor degree or equivalent (Required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing and circulating RN expertise.
• Ability to remain composed and lead effective emergency responses.
• Strong problem identification, evaluation, and solution implementation skills.
• Supervision, delegation, and team development abilities.
• Familiarity with post-anesthesia care and perioperative workflows.
• Good written and verbal communication with multidisciplinary teams.
• Physical readiness for sit/stand periods and patient handling (lifting up to 35 lbs).
• Knowledge of hazardous waste and chemical safety procedures.
